Recover Virtual Machines

We have developed unique technologies for Virtual Machine Data Recovery in both Linux and Windows environments.

Virtual machines are a great ally for companies that want to expand their ability to manage multiple operating systems, but have limited physical space. When coupled with a RAID system, they become a highly productive tool.

VMs have the potential to turn a single physical server into multiple virtual servers, thus making them essential.

This productivity has caught the attention of hacker groups, who have developed ransomware that specializes in encrypting virtual machines and all their files — increasing the demand and importance of effective Virtual Machine Data Recovery solutions.

Data is the backbone of any business, so it must always be available and easily accessible. In light of this, data loss can be the downfall of a company.

There are a number of problems that can lead to data loss in Virtual Machines, they are:

  • Data deletion
  • Formatting partitions
  • Corruption of information
  • Overwriting information
  • Formatting followed by reinstalling systems
  • Hardware malfunction
  • Simultaneous failure of hard drives in Storages

Digital Recovery has placed itself in the data recovery market in order to provide solutions for getting data recovered in any of these scenarios.

Why Digital Recovery?

We have more than 23 years of experience, and our focus is centered on Virtual Machine Data Recovery, working with platforms such as VMware, VirtualBox, Hyper-V, XenServer, RedHat VM, among others.

Our expertise lies in data recovery for companies, with a strong emphasis on virtual environments.

We have developed our own exclusive technologies — among them, the Tracer — which has delivered excellent results in Virtual Machine Data Recovery, even in the most complex data loss scenarios.

To ensure maximum trust and security, we provide a confidentiality agreement (NDA) to our clients. All process-related information is treated as highly confidential and accessible only to the client.

Our labs are capable of operating 24×7 when emergency recovery mode is activated. Additionally, all our Virtual Machine Data Recovery solutions can be executed remotely, and we offer multilingual support for global reach.

Answers from our experts

Can a snapshot replace a backup?

No way, the snapshot is not a backup! We have seen many cases where the customer believed this, so it is worth making it clear what snapshot actually is.

The snapshot is a kind of freezing of the parent virtual machine and the creation of a new virtual machine, which will be attached to the parent, but without using it. The new data is written without consuming the space and performance of the parent virtual machine.

In these terms the snapshot may look like a backup, but in no scenario can it be used as such. It is recommended that a backup of the data is always available.

Are there any recommendations for the use of Snapshots?

Yes, there are some best practices that need to be taken into account, they are:

  • Use the Snapshot for a maximum of 72 hours, after that it is recommended that the data be consolidated on the parent virtual machine.
  • The Snapshot should not be too big, its size influences the time of the data consolidation process.
  • Do not have more than three Snapshots.

What you need to know

We have a thorough knowledge of all the major virtual machines on the market, and our unique technologies enable us to recover data regardless of the reason for the data loss.

Our technologies allow us to recover data from the following virtual machines:

It is not possible to establish a price without first diagnosing the affected virtual machine, we can do a thorough diagnosis in the first 24 hours, after that we provide a quote.

It is worth remembering that payment is only made after the recovery process has been completed and after the recovered files have been verified by the customer himself.

We can detect, contain, eradicate, and recover data after cyber attacks.
